Medical Director/Endovascular & Interventional Radiologist

Dr. Patel is an Interventional Radiologist who has been specializing in minimally invasive treatments for a broad range of vascular conditions including peripheral artery disease (PAD) treatments, spinal interventions and uterine fibroid embolizations, as well as providing critical maintenance and management of vascular accesses for dialysis patients for over 15 years. Currently, he is the Medical Director of Azura Vascular Care in Atlanta, GA.

Dr. Patel earned his medical degree from The Chicago Medical School/Finch University of Health Science in Chicago, IL. Following medical school, he completed a residency in surgery at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio and was elected to serve as Chief Resident as well as team physician to the Cincinnati Cyclones-IHL Hockey Team. In addition to a Diagnostic Radiology residency at Rochester General Hospital in Rochester, NY, he completed an Endovascular and Interventional Radiology fellowship at Harvard Medical/Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA.

After completing his training, Dr. Patel developed and served as the Medical Director of the Interventional Radiology Department at Franciscan Alliance NWI, performing the first cryoablation of a renal tumor in Northwest Indiana and expanding services to include Women’s Health and Interventional Oncology.

Dr. Patel has extensive expertise in all modalities of Endovascular and Interventional Radiology including minimally invasive procedures such as Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD), Arterial Embolization, Uterine Fibroid Embolization, Kyphoplasty, Pelvic Malformation Embolization, and Varicocele Embolization. He also performs minimally invasive surgical procedures related to maintaining vascular access for hemodialysis procedures for the placement and removal of tunneled hemodialysis catheters, fistulogram, angioplasty, stent placement, fistula/graft salvage and thrombolysis. 

Dr. Patel is board certified in both Interventional Radiology as well as Diagnostic Radiology with the American Board of Radiology and is a member of the Society of Interventional Radiology, American College of Radiology, American Medical Association, and OEIS Society. He is currently licensed to practice in Georgia, Florida, Arizona, North Carolina, Indiana, and Illinois.

When Dr. Patel is not practicing medicine, he enjoys living a healthy lifestyle, motorsports, playing guitar, and spending time with his wife and two children.
